Dear shelters and rescues,

Forgive me if you I already contacted you about this... Months ago, you graciously signed up at 1-800-Save-A-Pet.com as being able to take in some Katrina rescue pets. With our partner, Best Friends Animal Society, we are now in the final weeks of the rescue in New Orleans, still pulling abandoned pet dogs and cats off the streets. We are moving them out for immediate adoption to make space for others we rescue.

If your shelter or rescue can still take Katrina rescues for adoption (not foster), Best Friends will cover all expenses to transport at least ten pets to your facility, and we'll help you create a local media event when they arrive to get them and all your pets adopted. These animals will be microchipped and spayed/neutered, and if they are not adopted in 60 days, Best Friends will support you in your efforts to transport them to another facility that will work to find them homes. If you can take a minimum of ten of these pets, please go to http://www.1-800-Save-A-Pet.com/rd/katrina.

Also, please check out http://www.Operation-Save-A-Pet.com/ , the publicity campaign we are about to launch with Actor Pierce Brosnan and other celebrities to spread the message about adopting any pet from any shelter or rescue- not just Katrina rescues. We will use the media's interest in the Katrina story to tell the public to call 1-800-Save-A-Pet or go online to http://www.1-800-Save-A-Pet.com/ to find any pet to adopt from any shelter/rescue. Now is the time to get your pets posted so they will benefit from this publicity regardless of whether you have Katrina pets or not. We are non-profit and our service is free. Just go to http://www.1-800-Save-A-Pet.com/post-pets to post your pets if you are interested.

And thank you for all you do for animals!
